One of the original "Bungaloids" from the legendary Ten
Bungalows in Hollywood where I lived (and helped keep populated with a wonderful
assortment of mainly Southern - and for the most part wildly talented -
personalities), Robert Higgins, and fellow Vanderbilt grad Harry Crawford Binion,
and I spent many happy hours at Ten Bungalows. Bob always procured the
bunting for the annual enormous 4th of July parties during the 1980's.
I
introduced Bob to his wonderful wife Lynn Rose- Higgins, a pioneering filmmaker who
broke new ground in the music video craze when MTV exploded into American
popular culture. These two now live in Nashville, Tennessee, and operate a high-end Dog Care
business . We phone chat and love politics even
though its current toxicity has taken some of the fun out of that pastime.
The Rose-Higgins had better be planning a visit to Sierra Paloma (my home in
Bessemer, Alabama). They know how to reach me and have a standing invitation.
