Jip
& Kevin Haley
The lovely Jip was, in 1990, the precious
pal of actor Kevin Haley. He posed with great patience while listening
to Lou Reed sing "Nobody But You" on September 1st, 1990. His master
Kevin grew up with Winona Ryder on a commune and have been friends since
childhood (Winona's father was Timothy Leary's archivist and Mr. Leary
was Winona's godfather). In 1980, Kevin was introduced in a photo
layout in Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine as new face on the scene
as the 80's began. After working as an actor and model for several
years, Kevin turned interior decorator and designed Winona's New York apartment
and his work ended up on the cover of Architectural Digest. I last
saw Kevin at the Chateau Marmont during an art gallery showing in 1995.
Through the grapevine, it appears he has become quite the successful interior
decorator, and I can only hope that he is still enjoying the companionship
of his charming dog Jip. As Kevin was photographed on the same day,
he was listening to Lou Reed and John Kale's memorial CD to Andy Warhol.
The track that was playing on that September afternoon was "Faces and Names".
