I first met Julian in 1987 when he was 14 years old. This portrait was taken in 1990 as he turned 18. He was living in Toronto but often visited his father, Jeffery Jones, who I co-starred with in BEETLEJUICE. It amazes me to realize that Mr. Coutts is 34 and engaged to be married. Based in Toronto, Julian seems to be headed for a career behind the camera. When he's at Jeffrey's and answers the phone I always mistake him for his dad. Fools me every time.
