Last Thursday,
October 3, 2002, Disney celebrated the second year of Jack Skellington
from Halloween Town taking over the park's Haunted Mansion Attraction
now called Haunted Mansion Holiday.
After a musical number featuring many of the films characters, author
Frank Thompson (who wrote the book about the making of NIGHTMARE)
hosted a panel discussion with Catherine O'Hara, Glenn Shadix and
voice actors Randy Crenshaw & Kerry Katz.

Afterward,
the whole gang was given a tour of the "Nightmare" Mansion
and then treated to dinner at Disneyland's Blue Bayou Restaurant.
The guests all stayed at the Disney Resort's great new hotel, The
Grand Californian.
"It was another
great Nightmare celebration at Disneyland," reports
Shadix. "This has become the little movie that could! Seems
like its popularity is still on the rise. Disney unveiled a huge
array of new Nightmare merchandise, including a beautiful
new porcelain Mayor that I could not refuse. Among the gifts to
the panelists was a Jack Skellington Head from which springs a Christmas
Tree decorated with Nightmare characters as ornaments. It was Catherine's
(O'Hara) first time at a Nightmare event and she was overwhelmed
at the sight of a sold-out Fantasyland Theater filled with the fans
of this nine year old motion picture. Next year should be very special.
It's the 10th Anniversary! Tim was in London this week but maybe
we can lure him out to Disneyland for next year's big celebration!"
